"Water For All" Project

Over 10,000 gallons of potable water delivered

NeighborAid believes that everyone deserves to have a reliable source of safe drinking water and that our cities are failing to meet this basic human right for our unhoused neighbors.

Water For All delivers potable water to on-site storage containers multiple times a week to three communities in North Richmond. Each delivery consists of at least 300 gallons with the goal of having water available 24/7.

We would like to add additional locations in the future but are currently limited by the time it takes to fill and transfer water from transport to permanent tanks, and funds for additional food-grade IBC totes.

Stimulus Checks

Over $52,200 worth of stimulus money received

NeighborAid has been directly supporting our community members by hosting a series of stimulus application clinics through the months of February and March. These clinics help ensure everyone understands the application process and requirements for obtaining their EIP (Economic Impact Payment), including the recent $1,400 covid relief payment signed by President Biden as part of the $1.9 trillion America Rescue Plan.

Each clinic ends with more than a dozen stamped envelopes to ensure needed cash is directed to those who have missed out on valuable information and resources that have allowed them to sign up for their stimulus money in past months. Over $52,200 have been secured from EIPs so far and counting!

NeighborAid Resource Van

Often referred to as our "mobile free store"

Our neighbors have often spoken about their difficulties in traveling to places where they can obtain the information and resources they need for their survival. Our upcoming Free Mobile Store aims to take the resources directly to them by providing a mobile supply unit set up for folks to pick and choose exactly what grocery, sanitation, and survival items they need.

The van is intended to offer our neighbors more choices in the items they most often need. We are currently in the works of outfitting a van specially set up and stocked with goods with extra cargo space to deliver special requests and bulkier items (such as propane and building materials). In addition to general supply distributions,

Going Forward...

In order to best support our neighbors

As a mutual aid organization, we believe in our community’s own collective strength to raise our neighbors up and ensure that everyone’s most basic needs are fully met. NeighborAid intends on being one small piece of the puzzle that enables the community to be more effective in that goal.

We have already begun piloting some initiates, we aim to achieve the following:

Water & hygiene stations

Laundry services

Shelter construction assistance

Cleanup and sanitation services

Partnering with local business

Direct neighborhood donation drives

Community resource sharing

Testing and reviewing supplies

Aid other mutual-aid org with wholesale purchases
